It is WRONG to do this to an indigenous people...who is to say that they are any less important than your dam!? Their entire existence will be ruined. Put yourself in their shoes. The world will never understand if you do this. PLEASE rethink this.
As an American, I am deeply ashamed of the English settlers' destruction of the native people's homelands. So deeply ashamed. |

It is a crime that the President of Brazil was considered a Socialist! As a Socialist I have compassion for all people. Where is this man's compassion for Chief Raoni and his tribe!? He should be ashamed of himself associating with the greedy and their deranged efforts to mimic what has long since failed America. It is time for the world to recognize that the "First World" as it has been called is a breeding ground for poisons that will ultimately destroy Humanity and the planet we call home!

id like the indigeonous people to know that there way of life is respected by most of the rest of the world, and most of the rest of the world would trade their lives to return to nature the way they live.in harmony with mother nature.its important they dont get rollercoasted over by capitalizm as capitalizm and dodgy backhanders already have destroyed too much of the planet already.there way of life and the lungs of the earth are too precious to be disrespected for $$$£££ .the evils of money.which will benefit a few to live abusive lifestyles, rearding the planet, and not beneit the many.baz :]

The Indigenous tribes are people not to mess with. They hold knowledge of species and plants that scientists know nothing of. Scientists learn by studying, and these tribes learn by living with and using the plants and species for survival- this is more valuable and important than anything. It doesn't matter if the dam project is for 'ecological impact', they're doing damage to what makes up the Amazon Forest to begin with. The forest has sustained itself for much longer than humankind has existed- and can continue fending for itself. It does not need human-approved impact, the forest needs RESPECT.

What these people want to do is atrocious. Greedy men will hurt anyone and anything to get what they want. It is sad to see that mother earth and the natives, who are so in touch with nature, are the victims in this situation. Chief Raoni I support your cause and your people! Do not let these men succeed. What they plan to do is wrong.

This repercussions of the dam are massive... affecting indigenous tribes that have lived there for eons and destroying extremely rare and highly medicinal plants, not to mention the source of much of our planets oxygen... this is about supported the needs of our planet, first and foremost. These people have only lived in harmony with the earth... listen to them!! Their knowledge is important. Find other solutions.

Brazil - by building this dam you are making an embarrassment of your country on the world stage. And by the time you come to your senses, it will be too late. Anyone involved in building the dam will goo down in history as pathetic, greedy, short-sighted idiots. Stop the construction now!

For the sake of all living creatures on planet earth present and future please abandon the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam project. To continue would cause serious and perhaps irrevocable damage to earths biosphere. Please understand the vital role a rainforest plays in maintaining living conditions on the planet! I beg of you stop this madness in the name of all living creatures!
