Message de Marsha, Canada - 29/09/2011
Destruction and persecution does NOT equal progress. This is the exact opposite of progress. Shameful.
Message de Renee, Etats Unis (USA) - 29/09/2011
Let these people be and let the land be as it should be. Find another way that is positive rather than destructive.
Message de dana, Etats Unis (USA) - 29/09/2011
please dont hurt the Amazon forest or the indigenous people... please abonden the project.
Message de Tiara, Etats Unis (USA) - 29/09/2011
please tell me there is still a chance to stop this project, for the people and the land! Sustainable energy is just around the corner! The Government should put the dam money into sustainable energy efforts and stop the government takeover of land.
Message de Naomi, Etats Unis (USA) - 29/09/2011
It saddens me that as people, we often choose not to learn the lessons history attempts to teach us.
I understand that to have power, to have electricity is vital in this day and age.
But at what cost?!
To destroy not only wildlife habitat but in essence an entire culture by displacing the indigenous people's of that land is a travesty.
This breaks my heart and angers me. I sit in puzzlement and can only ask...will we never learn?
Message de Laughlin, Canada - 29/09/2011
Why isn't The Brazilian government researching renewable resources instead of destructive means of energy creation?
Please consider the long term consequences of this choice, and choose not to displace countless species, and the Xingu people.
Message de Abigail, Canada - 29/09/2011
Destroying a people's way of life should never happen again in this world. A sustainable and ancient culture is a precious gem on this planet, far more valuable than the proposed highway. Such highways foreshadow the complete destruction and fragmentation of habitat. Such highways have much more far-reaching devastating effects than strip of land they are built upon.

As a human family, we all rely upon the planet's ability to breathe, to renew, to process carbon. It is time we began to live as if we were reliant upon this for our survival (which we are). Any other road will lead to the ruin of us all.

The tragedy of the loss of a culture is enough to stop this highway, however, it only foreshadows the loss of so much more.
Message de Lauren, Canada - 29/09/2011
Is money made worth devastating, nature, the people of the land, and the all the animals in this area? Please think again and stop what you are doing!
Message de Kristina, Etats Unis (USA) - 29/09/2011
I am a graduate student at Mills College in Oakland, California. I denounce the building of Monte Belo dam. The building of this dam is an act of genocide! Save the inhabitants of the Amazon. Save yourselves! PLEASE, do not build this dam!

To the president of Brazil. Are you out of your mind, is short term gain really worth the long term loss. These tribes people know how to live with mother earth, it is the western mind disease which you have caught that does not know how to live with mother earth.

Message de Jennifer, Etats Unis (USA) - 29/09/2011
We have recently booked our honeymoon to South America. But we will be skipping Brazil now to stay in Uruguay/Argentina. I'll not have our tourist dollars supporting this government's action against its own people. Shameful.
Message de Renee, Nouvelle-Zélande - 29/09/2011
That's the way of life for the indigenous people of Xingu and you's want to destroy everything they know, breath, eat, smell, love and it's their HOME!!! Let them and their future grow old in peace and on their LAND!!!
Message de Kerry, Canada - 29/09/2011
