| As an indigenous person of North America, It breaks my heart and my belief in the goodness and compassionate heart of humanity to see Raoni and his people be wronged like this. Our people lost our battle with exploration and exploitation long ago, but I want to believe that consciousness is growing among humanity today and that we will not trespass on ourselves, our brothers and sisters repeatedly throughout history. This cause is not isolated, Indigenous, or Brazilian...our common UNIVERSAL HUMANITY is what is at stake here. What will it be that "seperates us from the animals"? |
