| I can understand the need for a government to ensure energy demands for a growing country are met. However, I do not think that large-scale destruction of land is the answer -the people who live there demand so little energy from 'modern' sources, it's ridiculous for them (and the thousands of other creatures who inhabit these lands) to be side-swept for those who live in the cities. Brazil has enormous tracts of ocean along the east side, there have been surges of research into wave energy capturing technologies. Long term, non-destructive energy producing (and job creating) options are out there. Please do not allow a travesty like this to happen! |
| No no no!!! I haven't seen this beautiful rainforest in person but the pictures are amazing. Please save this precious resource and look at the global picture. We NEED this to stop. Progress is saving our natural resources as we will never get them back. |
