Message de Carolynn, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Build the dam somewhere else. Perhaps you can tear down something manmade. Leave the indigenous tribes be.
Message de Aaron, Australie - 14/02/2012
Please protect the rain forest and the lives of the indigenous. Explore solar.
Message de John Thomas, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
It is time to stop pushing others out for the sake of having more for ourselves. There are limits to population expansion, and those limits become clear when other people become obstacles to move out of the way.
Message de PHOEBE, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Only people utterly lacking morals and a human soul would push this project... gold is worthless.
Message de Zack, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
The lives of millions of people depend on the well-being of the acres of forests that are present all over Brazil. I am so saddened to hear that the Brazilian government has decided to put their economic interests before the interests of the people that have lived off the land for hundreds of years.
Message de Lachlan, Australie - 14/02/2012
This is an outrage and must be stopped
Message de Emily, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
So much has already been taken from indigenous people in the name of progress. Do not do this to them and ultimately, to the rest of the world. We do not know what effect our actions today will do for the future of our children.
Message de Andre, Brésil - 14/02/2012
It´s a shame...Stop Right Now!!!
Message de Jesse, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Let the people be and find news ways to create electricity!
Message de Jeanne, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
The project will not do anything to help the planet. It will do the reverse. Besides dislocating people and destroying species it will destroy yet more of the severly endangered Rain Forest. Bulding such a huge dam will require huge energy inputs and create comparatively few jobs.
Message de Marcus, Thaïlande - 14/02/2012
It's really a shame the people who consider this project beneficial to the world haven't considered the world of the people who will adversely effected by it. How can we keep destroying our natural planet and expect to have anything left to keep us alive on it?
Message de Martin, Nouvelle-Zélande - 14/02/2012
To disregard how the construction of the dam project will disrupt the way of life that is unique to these cultures is an affont to basic human rights.
Message de Jane, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
No more destruction! All life is sacred. May Creator have mercy and work on behalf of the land and it's people!
Message de Zerin, Australie - 14/02/2012
We mustn't destroy the lives of these people just because we can and for no good reason. Why not go solar instead? We live on a planet with finite resources and we must preserve it for all to enjoy now and in the future. I strongly object to this deliberate destruction of a beautiful natural environment.
Message de Rafe, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I very strongly oppose the construction of this dam because of the irrevocable damage that would be caused to our planet.
Message de Mark E., Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
This is abhorable. Unacceptable. I agree we need alternative energy but to displace 40,000 people, there has to be another solution.
Message de Brian, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please do not pick dollars over human lives!!
Message de John, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I support indigenous peoples' rights to live their lives as they see fit. I pray that the supporters of the Belo Monte dam can find the empathy and understanding in their hearts to abandon this project and look elsewhere to find the solution to the problems they feel the dam will fix
Message de Andrew B!, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I Can NOT Believe! the Brazilian Government! How do they think they can DESTROY the 400,000 Hentares! (how big is that even?) of their Own! PEOPLE'S Land!!!?? AAAAArg! it makes me DISCUSTED! How could anyone do that to a whole Tribe of people, not to mention those who embody how their own Ancestors lived! The tribes people where here first! they have rights to their ancestorial Land! And one last thing, NO AMOUNT OF MONEY AND PROGRESS OF SOCIETY CAN MAKE UP FOR ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION OF A PEOPLES' LAND!!! Hear Our Voice! Brazilian Government.
Message de Christine, Canada - 14/02/2012
Surely there must be other ways to provide Brasilians with more energy rather than destroy the land and livelihood of these people that depend on the forest. Consider and invest in solar, wind and geothermal sources first.
Message de Linda, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Help the forest, we have enough electricity and d****!! Stop
Message de Jane, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
No more destruction! All life is sacred. May Creator have mercy and work on behalf of the land and it's people!
dont destroy the forests!!!
Message de Trish, Canada - 14/02/2012
I'm at a loss for words after reading this and am praying that this dam does not happen. One World. Peace.
Message de Leya Linda, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I understand it is necessary to build the damn but there must be a way to preserve Brazil Indigenous people, wildlife, and the forest. Please work on a new plan that will allow the damn to kill a minimum of the forest. It is an unreversible tragedy. Brazil will regret it, the world see only a minimum amount of pride in advancement but cherishes upholding our sacred forests. We beg you to figure out something, anything, maybe son't build it as large. May your stomach be smaller then your guilt. God Bless the Indegenous tribes and our forests to be spared from your manmade project.
Message de King, Australie - 14/02/2012
This is disgusting and can not continue.
Message de Marika, Canada - 14/02/2012
I believe that the lives of the indigenous people are as if not more important than those of the people who will "benefit" from the dam. Belo Monte needs to reconsider the development, and look at the Economic downside. REDO the ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT!!!! People are part of the environment too.
Message de Sandra, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
My son was adopted from Peru! And as we studied his heritage we read of the Inca's and how Pizzoro virtually wiped them off the face of the earth, because he wanted their riches! Luckly he didn't erect a dam because even Manchu Picchu, One of the wonders of the world!,would not be standing. If their was a rare animal that lived nowhere in the world but there? Which there probly is and yet to be discoved! The entire world would protest! Well these are rare human beings and you would wipe them out! I stand with them and say NO! Leave them alone and build it some else or use one of the many other sources of energy that can be used with out destorying people or nature that have lived there for thousands of years!
Message de Neirynck, Belgique - 14/02/2012
Ceci concerne le monde entier. Surtout les gens qui habitent là-bas, mais aussi le reste du monde, car tout le monde devrait savoir que la forêt amazonienne sont les poumons de la terre!
