Message de Stacey, Nouvelle-Zélande - 14/02/2012
I have only just learnt about this but I want to go against it. I think its discusting how humans will kill innocent people for their own selfish needs. And it all comes down 2 money! Why should money get 2 say wetha somebody lives or dies. We r all going 2 end up dead because of greed, money and power. Makes me sick
Message de Christy, Royaume-Uni - 14/02/2012
I understand the point of a hydroelectric dam but surely there are other places to put it? With so many people being rendered homeless and having their dignity stolen, and so many species washed away... how can they argue their case???
Message de Steven, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Should we really seek to benefit some at the cost of others? Are electricity needs to be placed above that of human lives and the sustainability of the planet?
Please demonstrate that you have the intelligence to discern what's important.
Do not commit genocide and deforestation against your fellow man and the planet.
We are all One. If you harm others, you are harming yourself.
Please act with Love and Intelligence, and cease your plans for this destructive hydroelectric dam project.
Message de Teresa, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please leave the People's land alone!~
Message de Serena, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I support you and give you my deepest hope that this will be resolved.
Message de Erin, Australie - 14/02/2012
Making a difference! In full support of you, with all the love in my soul.
Message de Sonya, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
It is absurd and shameful that such a thing can still happen in this century; native peoples have an inherent right to their lands.
Message de Samantha, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I'm sorry capitalism and the need of excess has reached its tenticles so deep that even those who live so far away from the "modern and civilized" are having their way of life destroyed as well. My people hearts were broken centuries ago, I'm sorry that your peoples are breaking too.
Message de Anja, Royaume-Uni - 14/02/2012
May the peace of yahwah which transcends all understanding guard your hearts and minds.
Message de Sarah, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Although Brazil is on the forefront of hydroelectric power, which supplies over 3/4 of electricity to users, the idea of sustainable development must be implemented as well. The mass dislocation of tribal peoples from land they inhabited well before development is the complete opposite of sustainable development. In technical terms, this will severely lower the HDI of Brazil and take them further away from the world goal of sustainability both in energy security and human rights. The entire idea of property rights in itself is a quandry. If there is any hope of reversing this project, it must be done in terms of Brazil. They need to know why it is in their best interests to NOT dislocate people, why they should not force the flooding of lands. I am by far no expert, least of all in this particular situation, but it seems the government does not care about their native inhabitants. And that is wrong, but there is nothing to be done about it. Instead, provide them with an incentive, find an endangered species, find something that will inspire mass public upheaval to the project. I support your cause and hope dearly that the people who have lived here for centuries continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Good luck!
Message de Nicole, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Stop the destruction of the natural environment & allow these people to remain on their lands.
Message de Jordan, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Those in humble positions ought to be honored and lifted upon the shoulders of the rest of us. Don't give up the good fight.
Message de Kara, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please don't build! Save a beautiful native culture!
Message de Leah, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
This is so wrong. These People and tribes are a world living treasure.Leave their lands alone and let them be.
Message de Stephen, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
The destruction of the Amazon rain forest and its inhabitants for political and monetary gains will lead the destruction of our precious planet. It's not worth creating a dam that will only give temporary satisfaction to those who benefit from it, while the lasting ramifications will be muchy more catastrophic.
I'm against the dam, as it will displace a deeply entrenched culture. As well it will harm human beings.
Message de james, Royaume-Uni - 14/02/2012
The destruction of achres and achres of habitat to both humans and wildlife is sickening, construction of this said hydroelectric dam would cause tenfold more problems than it may solve, and to consider flooding not only the habitat of many species but also force humans out of their homes for a source of power cannot be made to happen. I condemn those responsible
Message de NATALIE, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
THIS ISSUE IS RAPIDLY GROWING AND MORE PARTIES WILL BECOME INVOLVED IF THIS DAM IS CONSTRUCTED. THE INDIRGENOUS PEOPLE OF XINGU MUST HAVE MORE RIGHTS THAN A HYDROELECTRIC DAM. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN.
Message de Mathieu, Canada - 14/02/2012
all of this, once again, in the name of profite... shame
Message de Trina, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
This would be a tragedy if allowed to happen. There is no reason for a dam of this size and devastating magnitude. People need to reconsider their energy consumption.
Message de Brian, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Let flow the river and the way of life for your remaining indigenous culture.
Message de Jennifer, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I am very sorry about this. I hope you win.
Message de christina, Canada - 14/02/2012
EVERYTHING about this project is wrong in every way possible. Please abandon it!!!
Message de brian, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
This is a travesty. As a human they should be ashamed of themselves.
Message de Oscar Miguel, Philippines - 14/02/2012
We are supporting Chief Raoni's Petition... We are from Philippines and We felt sad about the news. We hope that that project will not push through.
Message de Teju, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please keep Mother Nature as it is and don't destroy the homes and lives of these people.
Message de Peggy, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
