Message de Heather, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
What we would be losing is a thousand times greater than anything we could possibly have to gain. Please preserve this place of nature - one of the few where man and nature can still exist as one. It may not be long before places like these are the envy of the world- it is folly to destroy it.
Message de Colton, Canada - 14/02/2012
I realize that with growth of population there becomes a higher demand of creating an energy source, but destroying the jungle and all that resides with in it will be a larger loss than people not being able to blast AC or watch TV. The Life that will be destoryed in order to to create an artifical one is signing a deal with the devil. I pray that the world may step in and stop this horrific d***. Please God, the creator the giver of all. I bed of you to spare all the life that will be destroyed.
Message de Tiphany, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Give a d*** and stop the dam! How can you even consider this magnitude of destruction and deforestation? I stand with the indigenous peoples of Xingu and all the life in the forest - against the hydroelectric dam project.
Message de Lindsey, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
You're in my prayers =)
Message de Alexis, Canada - 14/02/2012
This is unacceptable behavior by so called "advanced society."
Message de Olga, Australie - 14/02/2012
Please don't build the dam, I understand that people need the jobs and prosperity but there must be another way. No one should be forced to loose their home and everyone is born with a right to live in peace and dignity
Message de Jake, Australie - 14/02/2012
"While newspapers and television talk about the lives of celebrities, the chief of the Kayapo tribe received the worst news of his life: Dilma, "The new president of Brazil, has given approval to build a huge hydroelectric plant (the third largest in the world). It is the death sentence for all the people near the river because the dam will flood 400,000 hectares of forest. More than 40,000 Indigenous Indians will have to find another place to live. The natural habitat destruction, deforestation and the disappearance of many species is a fact."
What moves me in my very bowels , making me ashamed of being part of Western culture, is the reaction of the chief of the Kayapo community when he learned of the decision—his gesture of dignity and helplessness: crying
Message de Adriana, Canada - 14/02/2012
I am sickened that this atrocity is being allowed. While the impact to the indigenous peoples is abhorrent, the destruction of that much forest impacts the entire planet. TIME magazine named 'The Protester' Person of the Year. You bet we're being heard and making a difference.
Message de clarisse, Canada - 14/02/2012
NO to the development of Belo Monte Hydroelectric dam project. Im First Nation, the land is sacred, respect Cheif Raoni and the indigenous peoples request. No hydroelectric dam!!!!
Message de Alison, Australie - 14/02/2012

Message de Patrick Roy, Canada - 14/02/2012
When I read about the history of easter island I had a hard time believing people make such monumental mistakes, now I see we've learnt nothing from it.
Message de Julia, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Industrialization and money should take priority over the indigenous people. This dam is just wrong.
Message de Viswam, Royaume-Uni - 14/02/2012
Good Luck to all the people whose lives are at risk, my prayers that the project is overturned and closed. Let the land belong to the people who have taken care of it from the days of their fathers, fathers, great grand fathers fathers, fathers who have promised their ancestors that a day will come but we shall still protect it for the future. And when the day has arrived there is a Mother who will fight for her people, her kingdom of heaven that she shall fight to protect with the help of known & unknown people from around the world. Peace.
Message de Joseph, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012

Message de kristin, Australie - 14/02/2012
Please do not flood these peoples lands. If you have any humanity left you will know that this is wrong. This ammounts to genocide of 40,000 Indigenous indians! Not to mention the impact it will have on the eco system!
Message de David, Australie - 14/02/2012

Please leave the land the way it is. Stop greed!!! Leave the tribes alone. They're not hurting anyone, so why do you need to destroy them!!!!
Message de natalie, Royaume-Uni - 14/02/2012
Stop this capitalist greed, dont fight for your place at the devils table, why not use the amazing opportunities you have to create a new world out the booming emerging market that is south america, lest not destroy our few remaining resources on this planet....... please stop this now
Message de Miller, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
One person may not change the world, but together, we can!

Sending love and light. You are NOT forgotten.
Message de Annette, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Oh Come-on! A dam?!! In the RAINFOREST?!

Haven't you learned from our mistake? Look at the Hoover Dam ~ it's huge and has completely stopped the flow of what was, formerly, the biggest river in the USA.

Please stop this kind of madness!
Message de Kirsten, Australie - 14/02/2012
