Message de Barbara, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
How can you displace an entire race? Are you sub-human? There are alternatives you can surely implement without causing 40,000 people to be uprooted. Not to mention ruining the land and killing numerous animals!! Find a better solution to your energy problem.
Message de Christopher, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
The economic gain and increase in access to electricity is not worth the sacrifice of such a unique, and inhabited part of the world. Displacing 40,000 people and positively causing the extinction of certain south american species in the name of power is a worse travisty that the declaration of war for the purposes of economic gain. Decemating a landscape of which so many call their home should not be the right of a centralized western government.
Message de janusz, Australie - 14/02/2012

Message de Carly, Australie - 14/02/2012
Work together for a plan that works for everyone. We are all humans and we should be a team, not one against another
Message de Danielle, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please don't go forward with this project at the expense of life in the area. There is another solution, it just needs to be found.
Message de Philip, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012

Message de Lee, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Wake up people, do not let this happen! Have you not payed attention to history? Do you not see what this will do? Sad..
Message de Ruth, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
please don't do this! for the sake of the people and mother nature a whole culture will be endangered
Message de Cynthia, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please don't be cruel and inhumane and force 40,000 indigenous Indians out of their homes! Being humane and doing the right thing and respecting our species is more important than money. When you die you can't take your money with you, but God will judge you for your actions and amount of pain inflicted upon the world.
Message de Martin, Allemagne - 14/02/2012
Please contact the organisation avaaz.org to aks them to start a big global petition with 13 million members getting informed.
It's not too late. There are alternatives to this project, it depends on the global voice of the public. And the public has not been asked yet.
Thank you.

Conheco os povos indígena do Alto Xingu. Estou apoiando essa causa em favor dos povos indígenas, sua cultura e seus lugares sagrados. Um grande abraco e sucesso!
Message de Manouschka, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
This is WRONG! Please let these beautiful people & all the life that inhabit the area live in peace!
Message de Averie, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Our country of the United States has seen the travesties of destroying aboriginal cultures. I am lucky enough to be in a generation that can still experience these beautiful cultures that lie at the heart and soul of every country. However, it is heartbreaking to me that these aboriginal cultures around the world are losing credibility, respect, and population due to capitalism. I am so grateful that social media has brought this story to my attention and will pass it on to all of those I know. My hope is that compromise can be made in accepting new cultures, and not discrediting cultures that have existed for centuries that appreciate many wonders of the natural world that today’s generations cannot understand.
Message de Jens, Allemagne - 14/02/2012

How can one make a move so selfish! This dam affects the lives and habitats of so many other people and animals. Look after Mother Earth and she will look after us.

Message de Lindsey, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
This is a despicable project. I hope that we are able to stop the building of this dam. Good luck!
Message de Darren, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
I support Chief Raoni and the indigenous peoples of Xingu and request the permanent abandonment of the proposed Belo Monte hydroelectric dam project.

"While newspapers and television talk about the lives of celebrities, the chief of the Kayapo tribe received the worst news of his life: Dilma, "The new president of Brazil, has given approval to build a huge hydroelectric plant (the third largest in the world). It is the death sentence for all the people near the river because the dam will flood 400,000 hectares of forest. More than 40,000 Indigenous Indians will have to find another place to live. The natural habitat destruction, deforestation and the disappearance of many species is a fact."

What moves me in my very bowels , making me ashamed of being part of Western culture, is the reaction of the chief of the Kayapo community when he learned of the decision—his gesture of dignity and helplessness before the advance of capitalist progress, modern predatory civilization that does not respect the differences.
Message de Maureen, Canada - 14/02/2012
When are we going to learn to cherish the precious areas of earth that are irreplaceable? We need to find alternate sources of energy (wind, solar) that do less damage to our planet, its plants, animals and people. Who knows what future miracle cures may be lost in the area that is slated to be flooded? I am totally opposed to this!
Message de Ly, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
STOP IT. STOP STEALING HUMAN'S LIVES.
Message de Daniel, Australie - 14/02/2012
I sincerely hope this folly does not go ahead. The entire Amazon rainforest should be protected from future development.
Message de Evan, Royaume-Uni - 14/02/2012
It's just not right to be destroying each others homes. I'd be outraged if someone wanted to build a d*** on my hometown... How about you?
Message de Tracy, Etats Unis (USA) - 14/02/2012
Please stop this destruction.
