Message de Reed, Australie - 30/09/2011
Even though I do not live in Brazil, I feel that indigenous populations, and the forest are world sacred and should not be destroyed. Hopefully they'll hear this time.
Message de Emily, Australie - 30/09/2011
Do the right thing.. leave these people in peace.
Message de Holly, Royaume-Uni - 30/09/2011

Message de Karine, France - 30/09/2011
In addition to the displacement, the enormous impact on the flora and fauna, large dams pose environmental problems in all areas where there has been installed.
Problems related to the mass of standing water as a resurgence of Schistosomiasis with the Aswan Dam. This is a fatal disease caused by a parasitic worm living in stagnant fresh water. Make a giant dam in an area comprising Amazon flora and fauna much more extensive than in the desert will cause a proliferation of such problems.
The Three Gorges Dam in central China, apart from the problems of displacement of origin, must move even more than expected because the soils are eroded and collapsed around the reservoir. The dam gets stuck in the silt and may rupture.
Given all these examples, the results are far from conclusive, why continue this? Consideration should be given to other energy sources (wind, solar, etc.)
Solidarity from Saudi Arabia and USA.
Message de Daniel, Royaume-Uni - 30/09/2011
When are we going to learn that there is more than just one way of living a human life, more than just one definition of progress, more than just one measure of what is valuable? It is time that we stopped the savage plundering of the earth, and the utter disregard for the people who live on it.
My heart is with the Xingu people ..Don't give up
Message de Gokce, Turquie - 30/09/2011
Progress is NOT destroying nature! We already see the sad results of environmental destruction all around the world! How long will this go on?
Message de lucia, Etats Unis (USA) - 30/09/2011
Please stop ! The dam project. This is only going to hurt the people.
Message de liza, Nouvelle-Zélande - 30/09/2011
I am ashamed to be on the same planet as the people/corporations trying to take your land and freedom.I will do my utmost to share your situations with everyone I know!
The peoples vote of the world must count for something I wish you great happiness...

Stay strong! May the spirit be with you.
Message de Veen, Australie - 30/09/2011
I am disgusted to hear that the Brasil government have approved the destruction of these poor people's homes & basically to wipe out a culture, not to mention the rainforest & millions of unique species it contains. You can guarantee this will have a very negative impact on tourism, THE AMAZON is Brasil's international claim to fame & you are authorising its destruction in the name of progress. What makes the indigenous people, rainforest & its inhabitants less important than a stupid dam?! (insert obscenities here). SHAME ON YOU BRASIL!
Message de mendoza, Etats Unis (USA) - 30/09/2011
please dont do this, it breaks my heart and causes tears to run down from the bottom of my heart. i dont want to lose hope in humanity. i know its in your heart to not do this. they have done nothing wrong deserve this. your progress is not worth it. dont be the president to go down in history as the man who did this. please, just please, dont.
Message de Veronika, Suède - 30/09/2011
This is not only a crime against the tribes and wildlife of the Belo Monte, but an environmental crime against the whole world, our heritage, and the global ecosystem.
Why not build a nuclear powerplant, some oil riggs and a couple of mines while you're at it?
Please stop this anti environmental progress which is going against all our better knowledge and experience of today, and at the end of the day - think about life!
Message de nathalie, France - 30/09/2011
shame to the the brazilian government, you should protect and not destroy.

Message de Noack, Danemark - 30/09/2011
I hope that we can still change this decision. Blessings of hope and heart
Message de Rebecca, Royaume-Uni - 30/09/2011
Displacing 40.000 indigenous people's when there is so much national and international outcry at the prospect is irresponsible and insensitive. There mist be another alternative to this dam project to create the energy required. Brazil is a leader in the international field of renewables - now is the time to show your prowess. Do not make your indigenous population suffer. They are your heritage, they are your soul. Look after them.
Message de JaVaris, Etats Unis (USA) - 30/09/2011
It would be awful for the Belo Monte Dam to be built. It's an inhumane proposal that should be done away with immediately.
Message de upega, Nouvelle-Zélande - 30/09/2011

Message de soraya, Australie - 30/09/2011
This is such a tragedy. It has touched me deeply. I give 110% support to your efforts.
Message de Lorena, Etats Unis (USA) - 30/09/2011
They say "progress", but I see DESTRUCTION. The destruction of nature, the destruction of a culture and the destruction of a people. Progress is PROGRESS when it is accomplished not at the expense of a people and their home.
