| I'm half Native American & I know personally what has been lost to my people in the name of "progress". This dam project will literally wipe out not just a people, a culture thousands of years old, but a part of a very rapidly shrinking area teaming with wildlife, with probably still yet undiscovered species will be lost. This can & will lead to more & more projects that will eventually wipe out every square inch of the Amazon & the Native peoples that have lived there for thousands of years that are supposed to be seen by many governments, including the Brazilian Government, as " a vital & important part of the culture that is Brazil." Do not let this happen as this will destroy a part of Brazil's own National identity. |

I live thousands of miles away but as an inhabitant of this planet it pains me a great deal to know that we can so callously decide to destroy wide spreads of the environment.
