Stop the dam project...the people who live there do not want it. Leave their culture & homeland alone.
Message de Devon, Nouvelle-Zélande - 03/10/2011
I Devon Te Kanwa proudly support Chief De Raoni, the world is watching

Daca Taino Bo Matum Jan Jan Catú.

Message de Lori, Etats Unis (USA) - 03/10/2011
I support Chief Raoni and the indigenous peoples of Xingu and request the permanent abandonment of the proposed Belo Monte hydroelectric dam project. You must stop this to prevent a devastating ecological and human tragedy.
Message de Preben, Norvège - 03/10/2011
Stop the horrendous exploitation of our natural resources! This is NOT progress!
Message de Annelise, Etats Unis (USA) - 03/10/2011
Please do not take these lands away from the indigenous people. Trade and commercial values should not be out-weighing universal human rights to their ancestral homelands and their means of living.
Please put a halt to the Bel Monte project permanently. For the good of Chief Raoni, his people, and for the world. Thank you.
This situation saddens me beyond words. The idea that such a national treasure will no longer exist is criminal. Not to mention that brazil may be killing species that could very well be the cure of countless diseases that are causing suffering worldwide. Such a living entity like the amazon should belong to no nation on its own, it is a gift that we as a species should share and marvel at. Out of respect for life such a dam should never be built, to do so will be one of the biggest mistakes our species will ever make. To deprive countless generations of the marvels that this living and incredibly biodiverse haven is criminal. I beg the Brazilian government to rethink its actions for the sake of humanity and our future.
Message de Tim, Australie - 03/10/2011
If one is selfless when making this decision, it will be obvious that it should not proceed.
Message de Aida, Argentine - 02/10/2011
All the indigenous of the entire world ARE the real owners and protectors of the land!
Here, in the South of Argentina (Patagonia)happens exactly the same, the difference is that the land (in some cases including lakes) is being bought by rich men from all over the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Message de julia, Brésil - 02/10/2011

Message de Ava, Etats Unis (USA) - 02/10/2011

Message de Cynthia, Etats Unis (USA) - 02/10/2011
Prayers for this cause. We have solar energy options, organic farming options and other environmentally healthy options which can replace using dams for energy & other harmful things in the environment. I respect their way of life and want it preserved. Let them know that there are people that want our world saved and protected from harm. Blessings, Hugs, ♥ :O} Thanks.
Message de Brenda, Canada - 02/10/2011

Stop f****** with the Earth for f****** MONEY!!!!
Message de Zoriana, Etats Unis (USA) - 02/10/2011
The construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam must be stopped. It will destroy rare species, destroy the livelihood of indigenous people, and would harm the overall environment.
Message de luc, France - 02/10/2011
Courage,le mal ne passera pas!!!
Message de Brooke, Etats Unis (USA) - 02/10/2011
In this day and age we have the technology necessary to do most anything we need. I am a firm believer we should utilize these skills in co existing with our natural surroundings rather than trying to control them. The Amazon is the "main vein" for water purification on earth. If we mess with it the entire ecosystem will go out of whack. It is the largest rainforest left on earth. That is something to take pride in,not take from. In add tion, I fear this dam will hurt the dynamic cultures we see in South America, as thousands of people will be displaced from their homes.
Message de Didier, France - 02/10/2011

Arrêtons de détruire la planète !!! Qu'allons-nous laisser à nos enfants ?
Message de Zariji, Etats Unis (USA) - 02/10/2011
Short sightedness for an ailing economy always chooses the wrong solution to gain immediate results. However without long term vision for sustainablitiy, this political approach is old world economics and even older bad policy. It will certainly eliminate this country's most precious national gift, its rainforests - and in doing so it will alienate global trust and the largest growth industry in history- green travel - for its country growth. I feel deeply for the indigenous peoples who have remained spaceship earth's caretakers for centuries. This is the non-scripted Avatar story. Who will step in to step this now?
Message de Gina, Mexique - 02/10/2011
Mi apoyo incondicional a esta iniciativa.
Message de Margarita María, Mexique - 02/10/2011
MONTE BELO DAM IS NOT clean energy, I request to stop this DESTRUCTIVE PROJECT that signifies a disaster for the Xingu people and for all the humanity and the life in our Planet Earth. The Amazon Rainforest must continue having the life that gives us today to each inhabitant of Earth Planet Madre Tierra, as it gives us the 5th part of clean oxygen and water for living.
I just wish the people who are thinking of *destroying nature* will get what is coming to them. Sooo naive.
