I support Chief Raoni and the indigenous peoples of Xingu and request the permanent abandonment of the proposed Belo Monte hydroelectric dam project.
Such project should never be carried out without the agreement of local people. It's a shame and a total lack of respect to neglect them.

Please respect the rights of the xingu
Message de Dawn, Etats Unis (USA) - 22/01/2012

To displace these idiginous people would be a crime against humanity. Their way of life would never be the same, their environment having been destroyed.

No soy una activista pero más sin embargo esto es algo que duele, y me llena de preocupación, debe haber otras formas que no dañen mas a la madre tierra y a las personas que han cuidado de este santuario. Me siento impotente y triste.
Message de gwenn, Etats Unis (USA) - 22/01/2012

Message de Gordon, Canada - 22/01/2012
Please protect the home of the Xingu.
Message de Josue, Allemagne - 22/01/2012
I support Raoni and the people from the Xingu in their battle to preserve their river and livelihood. Belo Monte dam has to stop now and the Brazilian government should look for other alternatives to generate electricity that have not an impact on the nature of the Amazon.
Message de Leo, Pays-Bas - 22/01/2012
The true inhabitants are at stake, as does the rain forest.
Message de BRUCE, Canada - 22/01/2012
Please stop this project which is disruptive to the livelihood and culture of many people. We have similar projects completed in Canada and the people displaced have never recovered.
Message de Douglas, Allemagne - 22/01/2012
Chief Raoni and his people need to be respeced, their land protected from the greedy, heartless, murderous "white man and politicians on the take!!!!
Message de jean, Etats Unis (USA) - 22/01/2012
Listen to the people!
Message de Carol, Etats Unis (USA) - 22/01/2012
The building of the Belo Monte dam will destroy the surrounding environment, where the indigenous people live,as well as multitudes of various species of plants and animals!
Message de Rudi, Royaume-Uni - 22/01/2012
Building this dam on the land of indigenous peoples is utterly unacceptable. Particularly since the ancestors of white men went in there and slaughtered and enslaved these people's ancestors.
Message de Allan, Etats Unis (USA) - 22/01/2012
I support this because it the moral thing to do.

Merci.
