| I support Chief Raoni and his people and oppose the Belo Monte Dam Project. Brazil should be following the example of Ecuador and Bolivia in adopting the Rights of Nature and indigenous people into its constitution, not creating further environmental destruction and mass deforestation. |

| Please cease and desist the destruction of one of the earths most precious resources, and stop the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam project. I assure you, the construction of such a project will not only render the indigenous peoples of Xingu homeless and thereby ensure their extinction, but will destroy the rain forest and irreparably upset the already fragile balance of the global eco system. |

| the world does not want Belo Monte Dam. people around the world are horrified by the lack of consultation and the blatant disregard of our tribal elders. there are numerous alternatives to building this dam that will never happen. please forget about moneymaking and think about your karma and wake up happy that you are here in 2012 with energy to give to humanity and the many other species that inhabit this planet. when you die, money will not mean anything and on this planet at this time too, soon money will not mean much either - but waking up with a clear conscience is really nice and the riches of the universe appear and are offered daily. The elders who inhabit the Xingu river are some of our remaining ancestors and guides. We need to respect them. They understand nature and work in harmony with pachamama, not against. Please learn from these wise, connected people. Science and technology are tools. They are not wisdom. Wisdom comes from acceptance and experience. You have neither regarding the Xingu area. There already is enough energy in Brasil on many levels. there is power and electricity there and no need for greed. The actual fact is that brasil will prosper if the dam DOES NOT happen. If the administration is foolish enough to defy court rulings then international communities will not trade with brasil. Please, think not about money but about your beautiful country , nature and your wise older brothers who own this land - they are kind enough to let you intrude continually but they have spoken. | I believe that the voices of the original inhabitants must be heard first. The dam will have domino effect on the immediate region, the nation and the world. It will not solve your problems but create new and more difficult problems to solve. There are alternatives. Pleae use them. |
