| I'm not some big environmentalist nor will I ever be but anyone can see that the destruction of the Rainforest and the fact that more than 40,000 indigenous people will no longer have a home is just plain wrong. These people don't know how to live our modern way of life and nor do they want to, forcing them out into modern society would be a terrifying experience and I very much doubt that the majority of them would ever learn to cope. Save the Rainforest and all those that call it home. |

| No advancement can be worth the displacement of 40,000 people who have lived there for thousands of years. You have no right to simply move people for your own selfish gain. |
| Dear Branzilian Government, Please do consider the effect that the building of this Dam will have on the inhabitants who have lived in that area for thousands of years. They are the rightful keepers of this land and will be displaced from a home they deeply love and that is all they know. This does not just affect one person, but 40,000 native Brazilian inhabitants. Their culture and way of life to survive demands that they are able to retain their ancestral homelands. To do this terrible project would endanger their culture, which has been in danger since the colonizing of the North and South American continents. Is it really "civilized" to force a people to give up something that is rightfully theirs? I strongly believe it is not - it is barbaric, and is totally incongruous with how a civilized nation should be. Please place yourself in their shoes, and realize how detrimental this is to their survival. The signers of this petition will not stop until justice is served for the people of the Xingu. Thank you.
