Natives Guarani Kaiowá threaten die collectively if eviction order take effect

Source : News source: CEBI – Biblical Studies Center
“We ask the Government and the Federal Court not to grant an order of eviction/eviction, but we ask to enact our collective death and bury us all here …”, claim the Guarani Kaiowá Kue Pyelito/Mbarakay

“We believe the letter as a last desperate cry for life, that between dwindling die alone on the outskirts of cities, prefer die collectively together to their ancestors”, expresses the document “Life to the people of Guarani Kaiowá Kue Pyelito/Mbarakay”

The Center for Biblical Studies of Mato Grosso, gathered to reflect on the Bible and Blackness, on this day the Catholic community celebrates the Black Mother Aparecida, and the entire Brazil the children’s day, couldn’t help but echo the cry of the Guarani Kaiowá, the people of Pyelito Kue/Mbarakay project. Before the expulsion order decreed by the Federal Court, 50 women, 50 men and 70 children, asking in a letter sent to the Government and to Federal Court be exterminated collectively.

The letter says:
“…We live on the banks of this river Hovy there is more than one (01) year, we are without any assistance, isolated, surrounded by gunmen and have endured until today. Eat food once a day. it went daily to regain our territory former Pyleito Kue/Mbarakay … We ask the Government and the Federal Court not to grant an order of eviction/eviction, but we ask to enact our collective death and bury us all here … We have no other option, this is our last round unanimous decision on the order of the Federal Court of Nagesh, MS. “

We understand the letter as a last desperate cry for life, that between dwindling die alone on the outskirts of cities, prefer die collectively together to their ancestors.

“The truth will set you free”, said Jesus. We know how important and necessary that the Truth Commission examine the crimes of extermination of indigenous peoples held in the military regime, and that those responsible be punished, so that these barbarities have no continuity. After 39 years of document Y Juca Pirama-”the Indian who must die”, released by the bishops and missionaries in December 1973, against the indigenous genocide in progress by Governments of military dictatorship, we want to tell the democratic and popular Government of today, and the federal court, to take steps to stop the ethnocide because “indigenous peoples must live”. Is in your hands to decide the extermination or dignity of the native people. And the only way to avoid the extermination is urgent and demarcating definitely their territories.

“Those returned, we are going back … The dance begins with the prayer …, “says the letter from one corner Kaiowá. We unite to her singing and her dance, as the myth of the Guarani land without evils, we asked the Nhanderuvuçú, our great father, that empower people and indigenous peoples, and the Guyraypotý, the great shaman, not tire in her dance of resistance.
We unite as well to all who defend the indigenous cause, and we invite all the Brazilian people to manifest itself.

Natives threaten die collectively if eviction order take effect

We live by the River Hovy for over a year now and we are without any assistance, isolated, surrounded by gunmen and have endured until today. Eat food once a day we spent it all to retrieve our old territory Pyleito Kue/Mbarakay. In fact, we know very well that in the center of that our old territory are buried several our grandfathers, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-grandparents, there are cemeteries of all our ancestors.

Aware of this historical fact, we have come and we want to be dead and buried together with our ancestors right here where we are today, so we ask the Government and the Federal Court not to grant an order of eviction/eviction, but we ask to enact our collective death and bury us all here.

We ask, once and for all, to enact our decimation and total extinction, as well as send several bulldozers to dig a large hole to play and bury our bodies. This is our request to federal judges. As we await the decision of the Federal Court. Enact our collective death Guarani Kaiowá Kue/Pyelito and Mbarakay and bury us here. Since we decided to fully do not leave here alive and not dead.

We know that we have no more chance to survive in dignity here in our territory, has already suffered a lot and we’re all massacred and dying at an accelerated pace. We know that we will be expelled from the river for Justice, but we’re not going to get out of the River. As a native and indigenous people, we decided to merely be killed collectively here. We have no other option this is our latest unanimous decision on the order of the Federal Court of Nagesh-MS.

Aty Guasu ‘ report explains the situation of the Guarani Kaiowá Kue Pyelito/Mbarakay

This report is the Council of Aty Guasu Guarani Kaiowá, and explaining the history and current situation of life of the members of the Guarani-Kaiowá communities of traditional territory Pyelito Kue/Mbarakay, located on the Bank of River Hovy, 50 metres from the River, in the municipality of Hovy Iguatemi-Ms. the camp of the guarani kaiowá and community Pyelito Kue/Mbarakay started on August 8, 2011.

It is important to note that the members (children, women and the elderly) of this community from a reoccupation in August 23, 2011 day at 08:00 pm, were attacked so violent and cruel by gunmen of the farms. At the behest of the farmers, the gunmen passed permanently to threaten and surround the tiny area retaken by the Guarani-Kaiowá community on the river bank that this fact remains to this day.

In one year, the gunmen who surround the camp of the guarani-kaiowá families, already cut/downed 10 times the mobile bridge made of wire/vine which is used by communities to cross a river with a width of 30 metres wide and over 3 metres in depth. Despite this isolation, armed gunmen threaten constantly the but 170 indigenous communities indigenous reocupante of old territory Pyelito kue continue resisting and surviving on the waterfront in Hovy small area retaken until today, are awaiting the final demarcation of the territory formerly Pyelito Kue/Mbarakay.

On 8 December 2009, this group has already been beaten, threatened with guns, blindfolded and thrown to the roadside in an extrajudicial eviction, promoted by a group of gunmen at the behest of ranchers in Iguatemi-Ms. Before, in July 2003, an indigenous group had tried to return, being ousted by gunmen of the farms of the region, who invaded the encampment of Indians, tortured and fraturaram the legs and arms of women, children and the elderly. In general the Guarani and Kaiowa are today about 50 thousand people, occupying only 42 thousand hectares. The lack of land regularized has raised a series of social problems among them, causing a humanitarian crisis, with high rates of infant mortality, violence and suicides among young people.

Last month a Federal Court of Nagesh-MS, granted an injunction of the Guarani Kaiowá community dump and the River Hovy requested by the lawyer of the farmers and, in the order cites “repossession”, but noted that the indigenous group sits on the Bank of the River Hovy, i.e. are not within the farm as it claims the farmers ‘ lawyer. In fact, not the argument of farmers and in turn federal judge Nagesh without checking the fact reported, accede to the repossession. You cannot dump indigenous to the Riverside. So we ask for Justice review the decision of the judge of Nagesh-MS.

In the broadest sense, in the Councils of Aty Guasu received the letter from Kue Pyelito/Mbarakay community in which contains the decision of the community that we disclose all federal authorities and Brazilian society.
