URGENT ACTION – LET’S CLAIM WITH THOUSANDS OF VOICES “I AM GUARANI KAIOWA” TO STOP THIS PEOPLE’S GENOCIDE

Planète Amazone (Amazon Planet) is initiating an international emergency campaign that has to become viral. Its aim is to put pressure on Brazil’s current president Dilma Rousseff so that she signs immediately the decree that would provide definitive approval for 22 indigenous Guarani-Kaiowá territories. This would stop the bloody raids and others murders by big landowners who grabbed their traditional lands.

Mrs. Rousseff has been voluntarily getting in the way of these indigenous lands’ recognition process for years, under the pressure of agro-industrial giants. This proud people, who lived in harmony with nature, is currently reduced to surviving in misery in makeshift camps, under plastic canvas sheets, at the mercy of the ethanol producers’ armed henchmen.
Your pictures will given to Dilma Rousseff, the Brazilian president, along with a written demand from the Guarani-Kaiowá people asking for the immediate demarcation of their invaded lands, as enshrined in article 231 of the 1988 Constitution.

"Yana and I would like to ask people to please speak out against the genocide of the indigenous people of Brazil, the Guarani-Kaiowá. They are killed, raped and their children are kidnapped. There is NO JUSTICE for them from the governments. Just because rich Landowners want the land they simply take the land and they destroy the forest to make plantations for sugar and soy! All that the Kaiowá ask for is to be left alone on their own land so that they can continue their traditional life style. If we do not take action now, the Kaiowá people will be extinct in less than ten years. Spread information, share, do the same that I do, if we all take action to help them, We will save lives, and the life of the forest of Brazil!"

"Are we aware that after the slaughters perpetrated by Portuguese and Spanish invaders, in 2015 indigenous people are still being dispossessed of their lands, are still being murdered when they are impudent enough to protest? Are we aware that great white landowners send contract killers to “clear the field”, under the indifferent stare of the Brazilian army, when it is not a participant… Are we aware that big foreign firms, among which – oh what a surprise – French firms, take part in this horror? Do these firms’ executives manage to sleep with a clear conscience?
No, we are not aware of this. We are not aware of this, because no one cares! Most governments don’t care, the media don’t care. It is so much more interesting to know what club this or that player is going to be cheered in. Let’s go joyfully, let’s slaughter Indians, fauna, flora, in the name of the god Money! When there is nothing left of the Amazon rainforest but a vast sugarcane field, we will sing the virtues of ethanol, this god of a dead world!"
